Since its establishment in 1962, our company has adhered to compliance with regulations and integrity in operations, aiming to provide sustainable operational experiences from the Cathay Chemical Plant for industry reference. In recent years, Taiwanese society has faced many significant environmental safety incidents, such as wastewater pollution in rivers, the Kaohsiung gas explosion, and food safety breaches, causing public anxiety, severely impacting related industries in Taiwan, and affecting the operation of the supply chain in those industries. Our company, from the very beginning, has taken steady steps to fulfill its corporate social responsibilities in various aspects, consistently upholding the quality policy of "YOUR SATISFACTION IS OUR DUTY". We continue to develop customized high-quality products, enhance after-sales service, and establish long-term good partnerships along the supply chain, fulfilling our solemn commitment to openness, mutual support, and shared prosperity.

Cathay Chemical has always faced various challenges and has consistently explored solutions from the root causes of these issues. Through relentless efforts and continuous cultivation, we have ultimately achieved breakthroughs, resulting in greater and broader synergies. Our self-developed continuous zinc powder manufacturing furnace significantly exceeds the standards of the original British Darrin furnace in terms of resource utilization, environmental protection, energy saving, carbon reduction, and regulatory compliance. This innovation in continuous production technology has continuously sought further breakthroughs in multiple benefits, creating higher performance profits to share with all sectors of society, thereby elevating Cathay Chemical to become a leader in this industry.

From September 2005 to December 2006, within a short span of 15 months, the original equipment from the Kaohsiung plant was successfully relocated to the Pingnan plant, starting operations on time and ensuring a seamless transition. During this period, inventory levels of the product series were prepared in advance, ensuring that downstream manufacturers had no shortage of required raw materials. The dividends for shareholders remained similar to previous years, fulfilling the promise of achieving profits every year for decades, which is no easy feat.

Since its establishment, our company has been keeping pace with the times, gradually establishing and implementing a sound and advanced system. In addition to the provisions in the articles of association that stipulate that if there are profits, employee compensation shall not be less than 5%, and at least 10% of the employee compensation ratio should be allocated for the distribution of compensation to grassroots employees, there are also benefits such as bonuses during the holidays. One of the systems implemented for decades is the "Material Saving Bonus System," which is settled monthly. The total amount of the material saving bonus is calculated in a public, fair, and reasonable manner and is distributed to all colleagues; this means that every employee is like a boss. The more materials saved, the more profits are shared, allowing for mutual supervision and motivation, truly achieving self-management, which is the most distinctive feature, thus creating an overall bright and warm working environment.

Due to the harmonious relationship between labor and management, male and female employees have equal promotion opportunities. All members have more than ten years of service, and even after retirement, they are willing to return to their original positions based on the company's needs, restarting their careers. Some retired colleagues even recommend their children to work at the factory, demonstrating the great care that Cathay Chemical has for its employees.

Company History

YEAR 1962

The company was founded, pioneering the zinc powder method for manufacturing sodium hydrosulfite in Taiwan.

YEAR 1964

Research and develop new methods, establish a zinc powder factory, and develop calcined zinc oxide powder to supply the increasingly thriving ceramics industry.

YEAR 1965

Developing sodium formaldehyde sulfoxylate (rongalite) for the needs of the chemical synthesis industry.

YEAR 1973

Invite senior technicians from Ri-Pen Company to guide the improvement of sodium hydrosulfite production technology.

YEAR 1974

The new-style zinc powder manufacturing plant has started production, significantly saving energy consumption and producing zinc powder for the coatings industry.

YEAR 1982

The large zinc powder roasting furnace has been completed, reducing energy consumption and improving quality.

YEAR 1985

In conjunction with the development of high-grade anti-rust paint in the country, ultra-fine zinc powder has been developed.

YEAR 1986

Established automated wastewater treatment equipment to thoroughly solve water pollution problems.
