CATHAYLITE-C is a proprietary brand of Cathay Chemical, with the chemical name Rongalite C or Sodium Formaldehyde Sulfoxylate. It is a powdery white crystalline solid containing water of crystallization; if excessively dehydrated, its apparent purity may exceed 100%. When exposed to air, it readily absorbs moisture and decomposes, releasing a characteristic garlic-like or pungent odor during deliquescence. As a powerful reducing and bleaching agent, CATHAYLITE-C is ideal for use in liquid solutions below 80°C. It also serves as a polymerization raw material and an additive in synthetic rubber production during organic chemical synthesis.

CATHAYLITE-C remains highly stable when stored in sealed, dry containers. However, it readily decomposes, softens, and releases an unpleasant odor upon exposure to moist air. At room temperature, it dissolves in water to form a 40% aqueous solution, with a 1% aqueous solution exhibiting a pH of 9–10. As a powerful reducing and bleaching agent, it is effective in liquid solutions below 80°C but decomposes upon contact with acids. Please note that both the powder and its solutions may cause irritation to sensitive individuals

2.Stripping & Decolorizing: Acts as an effective stripping and decolorizing agent for dyed or printed materials in alkaline solutions.
3. Rubber Processing: Mitigates the coagulation effect of natural rubber.
4. Polymerization: Functions as a reliable reducing agent for synthetic emulsion polymerization.
5. Synthetic Rubber: Serves as a critical additive in synthetic rubber manufacturing.

Packaging Options: 50 kg iron drum (lined with plastic bag), 25 kg paper bag, or 1,000 kg jumbo bag.

Storage Environment: Store in a cool, dry, and hermetically sealed container to prevent moisture absorption and subsequent deliquescence.

Chemical Compatibility: Keep strictly away from acids and oxidizing agents to prevent decomposition and degradation. Standard safety protocols must be observed during handling and storage.
